The Apostle John begins His Gospel by answering this question and identifies Jesus as the incarnate Word. (John 1:1) “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Notice in this verse that “Word” is capitalized and therefore refers to a person. This person is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ who has existed from all eternity with God and yet is God.
